Telling Your Story
One of the joys of my work is teaching writers Read More
This time of year, when temperatures and humidity decrease, leaves begin to drop from trees, and bugs start to hibernate; I feel a new kind of “itch” encouraging me to spend time in the woods. After a summer filled with long days of work, hours spent publishing a Christian children’s book, attending church gatherings and commitments, and tending to a garden; it’s time to take a breather and reconnect with Jesus for longer periods at a time in nature.
Recently my wife and I received a great blessing from the Lord. A healthy little blue-eyed girl! I had the privilege of introducing my one-month-old daughter to my favorite site in the woods. She and I go for a stroll to the crater in the woods. My daughter has helped me slow down and notice details in nature that I once whizzed past on hikes. I am overjoyed to share fresh air with her. My wife and I look forward to teaching her about God’s beautiful handiwork of plants and animals. We will also teach her the importance of journalling and praying to God as a method to refresh and refocus on God-supplied blessings that really matter in this ever-changing and fast-paced world.
I encourage everyone to slow down and try a new method of praying and maybe even journalling. I appreciate all those who have helped me grow in my faith and influenced me throughout my faith journey. Thank you for reading my devotional and this blog. May God continue to bless you all with everything you need and the strength to help others succeed in life.
