Definitely, that is why I want to get in biblical based counseling! He hid that he was married and apart from the wife for 8 months before he met me and never even mentioned her until I found her Facebook profile. He’s currently working on the divorce. But this has severely hurt me and damaged the relationship due to the sheer number of lies that were told over the 8 months to cover all this up and even after showing pictures I found he still denied they were married until I found the court records online. It’s not been an easy road. He’s already submitted the first part of the divorce but now she has to sign the papers. It’s been a rocky last month to say the least. It also brought up my past trauma from an abusive ex and all the lies my father told in his cheating on my mom. It’s been hard. Definitely want individual and couples counseling.
Stephanie, I don’t know what is going on in this situation because you haven’t explained it, but I think you may need to get counsel from someone who is emotionally outside the situation. You are clearly emotional about what is going on, so if you are concerned about your ability to make a wise objective decision, then maybe you need to seek counsel from someone who is outside the situation, because their emotions are not involved. They might be able to give you wise guidance that was only based on the Bible and logic, not clouded by emotion. Do you understand what I’m saying? If this could be a decision that affects you for the rest of your life, then maybe you should take the time to do that.
