Lord, our children are gifts from You. We hold them close to our hearts and pour all we’ve got into their lives. As parents we find ourselves holding on to them so tightly, we forget they’re Yours. Today we ask for courage to give our children back to You. We offer You our children as whole people—mind, body, and spirit. Teach them to think rightly about themselves and their place in this world. Fill them with wisdom and knowledge from your Word. Set them free from lies taking hold of their minds so they know they’re fully loved. Heal any damage or brokenness that hinders them from learning, growing, and thriving. Encourage their hearts so they find confidence and hope as You do your necessary work in our children's’ lives to bring them to maturity. If they must suffer the consequences of their actions, keep us from interfering with Your loving discipline. When they need to lay down something good for the better thing You hold for them, show us how to support their obedience. If they’re becoming entangled in sin or rebellion, make us faithful in grace and prayer. Do whatever You need to do to draw them to Yourself. Claim our son’s and daughter’s future. We accept Your calling on their lives, no matter how far You ask them to go. Stir brave desires in their hearts to serve You no matter the cost. Challenge them to aim higher than mere money, popularity, or success can take them. Instead, clothe them in Your spiritual armor for the battle of advancing Your kingdom in this world. Let them experience Your lavish love as You provide every spiritual blessing in their lives. Thank you for our children. They truly are a reward and a blessing from Your hand. (Psalm 127:3,5) In the Name above all other names take them, keep them, and use them for Your glory. We love You. Amen.
