jstme, I am praying for your daughter to not get frustrated over this. She will find a way to write which is comfortable. I went through something like this when I went to school (long ago). I am left-handed and was fortunate enough to have a teacher who allowed me to turn my paper toward the right so I could write normally without having to twist my hand in an awkward position to write!
